Current volunteer opportunities can be found at www.cwc-mi.org/events. If you have a large group who would like to plan a close event, please contact us. Examples of common volunteer opportunities are listed below.
Serve on a Committee: Governance Committee, Lands Committee and Relationships Committee
Governance Committee:
Assist with the development of organizational policies, annual operating budget and help recruit new board members
Lands Committee:
Help evaluate proposed nature preserve acquisitions and conservation easements, land stewardship projects and monitoring efforts, and similar projects
Relationships Committee:
Coordinate fundraising appeals and events, help CWC develop relationships with people in our service area, offer guidance to educational programming and more
Nature Preserve Management:
Assist with hiking trail construction and maintenance, sign installation, trash pick-up, bird house installation, trailhead maintenance, invasive species control and removal and more
Citizen Science:
Help us with wildlife monitoring, ecosystem restoration / rehabilitation, preserve monitoring, easement monitoring, and botanical surveys
Outdoor and Environmental Education:
Plan and lead environmental education hikes on the preserves
